Service life & discontinuations of particular versions
When it comes to software products, the service life of particular versions is not unlimited. New functions are constantly being developed and operating systems must be updated. For this reason, new versions of software are continuously being released, with older versions being discontinued after a while.
VIDEC TIP: benefit from multiple advantages at once with our maintenance contracts “Secure”. You can use the most up-to-date version of your software at any time, you are regularly informed about updates, and you receive preferential support.
End of Maintenance (EOM)
The ‘EOM’ status means that, from this date onwards, no further hotfixes or service packs will be released for this software version.
End of Support (EOS)
If a software has reached “EOS” status, the technical support for this version is at an end.
End Of Life (EOL)
Upon attaining “EOL” status, the service life of a version of software has reached its end. Generally, this means that no more security updates will be carried out for this version.
