PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE
Service life & discontinuations of particular versions
When it comes to software products, the service life of particular versions is not unlimited. New functions are constantly being developed and operating systems must be updated. For this reason, new versions of software are continuously being released, with older versions being discontinued after a while.
VIDEC TIP: benefit from multiple advantages at once with our maintenance contracts “Secure”. You can use the most up-to-date version of your software at any time, you are regularly informed about updates, and you receive preferential support.
End Of Life (EOL)
Upon attaining “EOL” status, the service life of a version of software has reached its end. Generally, this means that no more bug fixes will be carried out for this version. Should the version of your software have reached EOL status, we recommend undertaking an update to the most current version without delay.
End of Support (EOS)
If a software has reached “EOS” status, the free technical support for this version is at an end. In this case, you have two opportunities:
1. You update your version or
2. You take advantage of our fee-based support service.
